PPF & CYBRIX FAQ

Installation, everyday care, paint protection and CYBRIX.

What is PPF, and what does it protect?

Paint protection film (PPF) adds a protective layer to painted exterior body panels. CYBRIX films use an aliphatic TPU platform. Protection does not make a vehicle damage-proof, and cuts, chips or deep scratches are not repaired by self-healing.

Will PPF change the appearance of my paint?

Clear-gloss films retain the visible factory color and reflections. IRONSatin adds a soft-sheen finish, while IRONMatte gives a low-sheen finish. Confirm the desired appearance and surface compatibility with your installer before installation.

How is IRONMIX color PPF different from clear PPF?

IRONMIX combines color and paint protection in an aliphatic TPU film. Clear PPF keeps the underlying paint color visible; IRONMIX changes the vehicle's appearance. Confirm the actual physical sample, color code and M-band before choosing; screens, lighting and the underlying surface can affect perceived color.

Does self-healing remove every scratch?

No. Self-healing refers to heat-activated recovery of minor swirl marks in the topcoat. It does not repair cuts, chips or deep scratches. Ask your installer to assess damage rather than trying aggressive heat or abrasive polishing.

Can PPF be removed without damaging the paint?

IRONMIX is designed for professional removal from sound factory paint. This is not a guarantee for every paint condition. Ask a professional to assess repainted, repaired or deteriorated surfaces before installation and removal; do not assume every surface is suitable.

Where did CYBRIX begin?

CYBRIX began in Cheyenne, Wyoming, in 2010 with a team of 4. Its focus turned to PPF in 2015, color PPF development began in 2020, the first stage of IRONMIX launched in 2023, and car care followed in 2025. Today, the team has approximately 50 people.

What does CYBRIX make?

CYBRIX makes automotive PPF and car care products. The IRON Series includes clear gloss, satin, matte and color PPF, alongside protective films for headlights and automotive glass. The car care collection supports washing, film care, wheels and interiors.

Should I have PPF professionally installed?

CYBRIX specifies professional slip-solution installation. A trained installer should assess surface condition and compatibility, prepare the vehicle and plan the coverage. Discuss existing paint repairs and the finish you want before work begins.

Should I choose partial or full-body coverage?

CYBRIX clear-gloss PPF supports full-body and high-impact-zone planning. The appropriate coverage depends on your vehicle, use and priorities. Ask your installer to identify the panels to protect and explain the proposed coverage; a standard roll size is not a guarantee that one roll covers every vehicle.

When can I wash my vehicle after installation?

Follow the installing professional's product-specific aftercare instructions and ask when the first wash is appropriate. CYBRIX does not publish one universal waiting time here; do not assume all films, surfaces and installation conditions require the same time.

How should I wash a vehicle with PPF?

Use pH-neutral automotive shampoo and soft microfiber. Avoid abrasive pads, harsh solvents and abrasive automatic car washes. Dry the vehicle after washing or rain, and follow the film-specific care instructions.

Can I use a pressure washer on PPF?

Avoid aggressive pressure-washing at film edges. Keep the nozzle away from edges and do not direct a strong jet underneath the film. Ask your installer for suitable equipment guidance; no universal pressure or distance limit is specified here.

Will hydrophobic PPF prevent water spots?

No. Hydrophobic film sheds water, but mineral spots can still form if water dries on it. Dry the vehicle after washing or rain. If staining remains, ask your installer for a compatible treatment rather than using harsh solvents or abrasive pads.

Does a warranty mean PPF lasts forever?

No. A warranty term is not a guarantee of an unlimited service life or protection against all damage. Terms differ by product; coverage, exclusions and claims depend on the applicable written warranty. Formal warranty terms on this website remain pending approval, so ask CYBRIX for confirmed information before relying on coverage.

How can I ask about product selection or an installation quote?

Use the Contact page to tell CYBRIX which product and coverage interest you, or consult a professional installer. Film roll prices are not installed-job prices. An enquiry does not confirm stock, a booking, shipping charges or a purchase.

How can my installation business contact CYBRIX?

Use the Become an Installer page to send a cooperation enquiry. An enquiry is not an approved Pro account or an approved public installer listing. Eligibility, application review and applicable program terms remain separate.
